Lakeland, FL (December 20, 2017)  — Rick Garcia, President and CEO, Gulf Coast Avionics announced that the company has completed an extensive avionics upgrade on a Cessna 414A Chancellor pressurized twin.

“The owner is probably general aviation’s leading authority on the Cessna 414-series of aircraft and he wanted to give this one next-generation capabilities while keeping an eye on the aircraft’s total value,” Garcia said. “With the pending ADS-B mandate, he felt this was the right time to go ahead and do a complete panel modernization around Garmin glass and touch-screen avionics.”

Cessna 414a Panel Upgrades

The complete panel reconfiguration and upgrade includes:

• Garmin G600 Integrated Flight Display with Garmin SVT (Synthetic Vision Technology)

• Dual Garmin GTN 750 Touchscreen GPS/NAV/COMM/MFDs

• Garmin GTX 345 ADS-B “Out” and “In” Mode S extended squitter transponder

• Garmin GTX 335 ADS-B “Out” ES transponder

• JPI Instruments EDM-960 Twin electronic engine monitoring system

• Genesys Aerosystems/S-TEC 55X dual-axis autopilot

• New all-metal, powder-coated and silkscreened instrument panel.

“While it may seem rather straight forward to upgrade a Cessna 414, our engineering and installation teams are especially proud of the way this panel turned out,” Garcia added. “It’s not only a great looking, amazingly functional avionics suite, but it will also add decades of operational life to another legacy piston twin. We are excited about our contribution to keeping airplanes in the air and performing safely for their owners.”
