DESCRIPTION
uAvionix tailBeacon ADS-B Out
tailBeacon is designed to be a direct replacement for the common navigation light or nav/strobe found on the tail of many aircraft and will meet the 2020 ADS-B requirements when paired with an operational Mode C transponder. tailBeacon is a Class B1S UAT transmitter and WAAS GPS integrated into a tail position light. This unit comes in experimental and TSO'd versions.

tailBeacon has the form factor and installation characteristics of a traditional Grimes style rear position light referred to as a Grimes model S or A-2064. The tailBeacon will work with any Mode C transponder. Due to the unique design and technology of the tailBeacon, there is no need to run any new wiring to the transponder. Installation is fast and easy.

WILL IT SATISFY THE REQUIERMENTS AND WORK IN A 1976 C182P?
This unit does satisfy the ADS-B requirements for a Cessna 182P and many other aircraft. Installation would be performed under a 337 Field Approval Form with the STC as backup documentation.
uAvionix tailBeacon and skyBeacon ADS-B system may be installed on an aircraft not listed on the applicable AML STC as per FAA Policy Memorandum dated March 2, 2016 and FAA Technical Paper AFS360-2017-1. The policy refers to these installations as follow-on installations.

I have an existing Garmin GTX-330 (not 'ES') and wanted to know if the uAvionix tailBeacon was certified to work with it.
Per the installation manual, the tailBeacon will work with a Mode A/C transponder. Mode S is not compatible per this documentation.
