GET SUPERIOR WEATHER AVOIDANCE WITH FULL-COLOR STORM CELL TRACKING

Displaying more color intervals than traditional 4-color radars, this Doppler-enabled digital radar helps take the guesswork out of storm tracking and analysis — giving pilots the real-time situational awareness to navigate confidently around severe weather.

All-digital Garmin radar combines full antenna stabilization1 with horizontal scan angles up to 120 degrees.

Adjustable scanning profiles, both horizontal and vertical, aid in storm threat analysis.

Optional Doppler-enabled turbulence detection and ground clutter suppression help clarify the weather picture.

WATCH® technology highlights areas where radar returns may be “shadowed” by closer cell activity.

See more contour detail with up to 4 times more colors than traditional radars.

Ground mapping mode shows real-time geographic features to aid in visual navigation.

Scan convective weather with Doppler accuracy.

ALL-DIGITAL DOPPLER RADAR

Bringing full-color storm cell tracking to your compatible Garmin multifunction display, this Doppler-capable weather avoidance tool combines excellent range with precision target definition for accurate, easy-to-interpret onboard weather surveillance.

VERSATILE SCANNING MODES

To focus radar scanning on the areas you want to watch, GWX 75 digital radar offers pilot-adjustable horizontal scan angles of up to 120 degrees. The system also includes a vertical scanning mode to aid in analyzing storm tops, gradients and cell buildups at various altitudes.

OPTIONAL FEATURES

To enhance the GWX 75 weather radar’s standard capabilities, available options include turbulence detection and ground clutter suppression. Turbulence detection identifies areas of rough air to avoid.

WEATHER ATTENUATED COLOR HIGHLIGHT (WATCH) TECHNOLOGY

WATCH technology helps identify the shadowing effects of intense or widespread short-range cell activity — highlighting areas where radar signals are weakened, or attenuated, and may not reflect the “storm behind the storm.”

GROUND MAPPING MODE

To aid in visual navigation, the GWX 75 digital radar’s ground mapping mode lets you use the radar to scan and view geographical features in real time.

MORE COLORS, MORE CLARITY

The radar’s high-definition color palette can display up to 4 times as many colors as traditional weather radars, providing a far more nuanced interpretation of storm cell dynamics.

LOW POWER CONSUMPTION

With its all-digital design, GWX 75 offers low power consumption and typically longer service life compared to previous generations of magnetron-based radars.

ANTENNA STABILIZATION

Along with standard pitch-and-roll stabilization, an altitude-compensated tilt feature automatically adjusts the radar antenna to a preselected tilt level throughout any climb or descent (when interfaced with the aircraft’s AHRS system).

EASY-FIT ANTENNAS

The radar’s compact all-in-one antenna/receiver/transmitter unit saves space and simplifies installation. It’s available with a 10” or 12” phased array antenna, so it can easily adapt to a wide range of aircraft radome configurations.
