  • Rotary knob on the unit allows for easy adjustments
  • Can be used as a primary EFIS attitude indicator or DG/HSI display (see P/N chart below for DG/HSI models) — or as a fully integrated backup flight instrument for G3X™, G3X Touch™ or other Experimental/LSA glass cockpits
  • Provides standalone or backup autopilot control, allowing coupled GPS approaches to be flown or continued in the event of a primary display loss
  • Built-in GPS receiver and optional GPS antenna available
  • Replaces traditional electromechanical backup instruments
  • Combines flight information in one display, consolidates situational reference for aircraft attitude, vertical speed, altitude, airspeed, slip/skid, and baro setting
  • When integrated with the G3X system, the G5 can provide heading, course deviation, flight director cues, autopilot mode annunciation, turn coordination, glideslope/glidepath, altitude and airspeed bug settings, and more
  • Teamed with Garmin autopilot servos and the GMC 307/305 mode controller interface, the G5 provides backup or standalone autopilot function
  • Can be connected through a serial port to a Garmin portable GPS such as aera 660/795/796 to enable the autopilot to couple laterally to the flight plan and vertically to support VNAV descents to pattern altitude
  • G5 has 2 pilot-selectable main page formats: a PFD page and a DG (directional gyro) or HSI (horizontal situation indicator) page
  • VHF or GPS navigation inputs are required to drive the HSI display; for GPS interface, an optional GAD™ 29 navigation data adapter is required
  • Optional lithium-ion battery backup sustains G5 with up to 4 hours of emergency power
  • LPM (Lighting Protection Module) version available to protect G5 from lightning strikes and replaces time consuming wire harness component buildup procedure.
  • Designed specifically for the experimental amateur-built (EAB) and light sport aircraft (LSA) markets
  • Dual G5 installation offers reversionary display capability plus the added redundancy of dual ADAHRS and dual back-up batteries
  • An STC permission letter will be granted for each aircraft in which the G5 for certified aircraft is installed
    • To retrieve this STC letter, the single-use registration code included in the standard kit must be submitted by following the outlined steps
