Garmin GPS/Nav/VLOC Course Deviation Indicator GI-106A R (Pre-owned)

Garmin's GI-106A GPS/VOR/LOC/Glideslope Indicator is the indicator designed to work with the Garmin GTN-650, GTN-750, GNS-430 / GNS-430W, GNS-530 / GNS-530W, GNS-480 / CNX-80, GPS-175 and other GPS units.  The GI-106A should be used by a radio than can provide either an ILS or WAAS Glideslope signal.

Like the King KI-206 / KNI-520 or Collins IND-351 / IND-351A, the GI-106A has rectilinear meter movements, instead of pendulum, which makes it easier to read. This is especially nice when flying an ILS, since the needles stay perpendicular to each other. This feature helps the pilot to better determine the degree of correction needed to follow the approach accurately.

An uncommon GI-106A feature is a built-in Nav Source annunciator. This shows green when used with a GPS source, and white when used with a VOR or Localizer source. Depending on the driving radio, distances, and angles in your installation, this annunciator may be sufficient to earn an IFR approval, or you may be required to install a panel-mounted Annunciator Control Unit (ACU).

This indicator does not contain a VOR/LOC Converter, which permits its use with a GPS. The GI-106A and an Annunciator Control Unit (ACU), if required for your installation, can be used to meet the FAA requirements for an IFR GPS installation.
